    in a decades long professional career, has worked every theater job imaginable—in stock and regional theaters from New York to Florida. In Richmond he has received two RTCC awards: Best Actor in a Play for the title role in King Lear for Quill, and Best Supporting Actor in a Play for RTP’s production of Lazarus Syndrome. He was nominated as best actor for Quill’s American Buffalo. He was in Fifth Wall’s The Lyons, and at Firehouse in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Desire Under the Elms, and Krapp’s Last Tape. Alan has worked in film, tv, and on stage with many Hollywood luminaries (Waterston, Nolte, Spacek, Carell, Mary Tyler Moore, Michelle Williams, to name a few). He was in Spielberg’s Lincoln, and Streisand’s Prince of Tides, and had a continuing role in the soap, Another Life. He has voiced countless tv/radio commercials and for a generation was the spokesperson for ChildFund, which has been good-naturedly satirized by Bill Hader, Key & Peele, and Dane Cook.
