Thank you to everyone for welcoming me into this new role as director for the Reynolds Musical Theatre Program. It has been a huge role for me to fill thanks to the many years of amazing musical productions directed by John Gray. The support from my colleagues, parents and students has been outstanding and I am so proud of the show this year. Spamalot is a challenging show, filled with zany characters and the need to give yourself over to being completely silly. I had a lot of big ideas, and with this team of teachers, parents and students I have been able to let my imagination soar.
Many thanks to my partner in crime Jamie Davis, the pit band sounds incredible and working together on this huge project made it all the more special. Also, a big thanks to Kanika Jackson for her incredible choreography and to Jacqui Sullivan for helping me out with vocals for the show--your hard work and dedication is so appreciated!
To all of the parent volunteers, thank you for all your hard work; we truly could not do this show without your help. A special shoutout to my mom, Carol Kerr and parent Jacquelin Green for taking the lead on costumes this year; this is a huge show and I think it is safe to say these are some of the best costumes Reynolds Musical Theatre has ever seen.
If you know Spamalot, then you know it is all about the sets and props to bring the story to life. Our stage crew team along with Mr. Packford and his students have done an amazing job building and creating this set. Special thanks to Anissa, Alma, Carter and Aubrey for their leadership and endless hours of work in stage crew.
This group of students is amazingly talented and it has been a pleasure to get to know them and work with them this year. It has been a bit of a learning curve for all of us, but they have showed a lot of hard work and dedication to this musical and to making this show spectacular.
Thank you to Peta and the Victoria Operatic Society for lending us so many of their wonderful costumes and being so accommodating when we went to view and pick up our rentals from them. Also thank you to Kaehlen Allison from Esquimalt High School for lending us so many of their props--it was a huge help for such a big show!
Lastly, thank you to John Gray for his guidance and mentoring throughout this year, your support means a lot to me and walking into such an established program has been such a gift, thank you. Congratulations to everyone for their hard work during this run of Spamalot, I’m so proud of this show and of all of you!
