From The Director
Elf has been a favorite holiday film for me since it premiered 15 years ago. So many fun recollections stream into my mind when I think of the movie:
Ginormous, Angry Elf, Beef & Cheese.
You may not see all your favorite moments in this JR. version of the Broadway musical, but our Primary Players kids do a great job of bringing these rich characters to life. I am particularly fond of seeing how Walter grows as the story unfolds.
I want to personally thank the cast of 42 kids from ages 8 to 18 for their hard work and good humor. I also want to thank the crew, led by Traci and Dustin, for their can-do attitudes. Also, thank you from me to our choreographer, Susie Smith (and her more than able assistant, Tori), for her fun movement for this show. Finally, a personal note to my friend, Dr. Ken Hawkins - thank you for leading our kids through this music. Ken and I worked together for the first time in 1984, and I have been clamoring to work with him again.
So, sit back, relax, keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times, and enjoy our production of Elf the Musical, JR.
