    Vocal Director

    Scott Takata is a graduate of Castle High School, has Bachelor's and Master's degree in music, and is currently the yearbook and piano teacher at McKinley High School. He has 35 years of teaching and performing experience. Scott has worked with MTG for the past three musical season as the Vocal Director & Pianist.

    Choreography Director

    Dwayne is a Kaimuki & UH Manoa graduate with a BA in Communications & post BA in Secondary Education. He’s also a social studies teacher at McKinley. Dwayne has performed for several years & has won a 2018 Po’okela award for the Newsies. He has also studied with Deanna Luster & five different studios. He has also choreographed more than 10 shows across Oahu.

    Joseph Nakamoto is a graduate of McKinley High School & received his Bachelor’s in Music Education. He is currently the band & orchestra teacher at McKinley, and has performed in several performing groups including the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra and Eddie Ortiz & Son Caribe.

    Anson Bernal is McKinley High School's woodshop teacher. He has 30+ years of construction, has also5+ seasons of being a stage hand, and has worked at Kennedy Theater and Diamond Head Theater.  We are very honored to have the genius of Anson's construction knowledge when it comes to set design on our stage for the MTG shows for the past 3 seasons

    Kristi Auyong is an art teacher at MHS. She graduated from UH at Manoa with her BA in art & Secondary Education. She has always been passionate about art and has participated in exhibitions, murals & community art projects. In the past she worked at: Mayor's Office of Culture & the Arts, Honolulu Museum of Art School, Sacred Hearts, & Leilehua High.
