Natasha Taketa-Kim

Artistic Director

Mz. Taketa-Kim is the Artistic Choir & Theater Director at McKinley High School. She has taught at McKinley since 2010 & has played trumpet at her high school & professionally with KDEN on Hawaiii island. In 2022 she directed her first musical with MTG & also took directing & stage combat classes at Windward Community College with the Hawaii Conservatory of Perfoming Arts
Joseph Nakamoto

Maestro

Joseph Nakamoto is a graduate of McKinley High School & received his Bachelor’s in Music Education. He is currently the band & orchestra teacher at McKinley, and has performed in several performing groups including the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra and Eddie Ortiz & Son Caribe.
Scott Takata

Vocal Director & Pianist

Scott Takata is a graduate of Castle High School, has Bachelor's and Master's degree in music, and is currently a CTE, yearbook, and piano teacher at McKinley High School. He has 35 years of teaching and performing experience. Scott has put in many hours over the summer with the MTG actors to help revive the program along side his colleagues.
Johnny Messer

Sound & Light Designer

Johnny "JC" is a community member who has come to McKinley to help our students on sound & light engineering. JC has performed in West Side & has 15 years of sound & light engineering from varrious studios across the country. JC is currently the production director of VIVE Church Honolulu & also partners with other production companies and churches across Oahu.
Jese Kawika Reeves

as Dr Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde

Jese Kawika Reeves is a Senior at McKinley High. This is his second year in MTG & he is the president of McKinley's Christian club. He plays the cello in orchestra and bass drum for McKinley's Marching & Pep Band. He thanks God for His constant guidance in his life and his family for being supportive with his life pursuits.
