William Parlan (Artistic Director) has worked with the gifted creators of Triple Espresso since its theatrical premiere in 1996. He directs each presentation of Triple Espresso and collaborates with directors around the world to adapt the play to other languages and cultures. While serving as the Artistic Director of the Cricket Theatre, Bill directed Cleavon Little in the world premiere of All God’s Dangers and, subsequently, at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, at the Lamb’s Theatre Off-Broadway, and for its broadcast on PBS’ American Playhouse. His American-premiere production of The Best of Friends was produced off-Broadway by actor Michael Douglas. His Cricket production of Sacred Journey toured the U.S. and Great Britain twice. Bill founded and directed a New Play Series at New York’s Bottom Line Theatre where he premiered the musical Leader of the Pack, which later moved to Broadway. He has directed at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, The Empty Space in Seattle, Florida Stage, Milwaukee Rep, Mixed Blood, New Mexico Rep, Philadelphia Festival Theatre, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Trinity Rep in Providence, Virginia Stage, and Yale Repertory Theatre.
Zachary Thomas Hedner (Producer/Stage Manager) is an NYC-based actor and producer in his second year at Columbia University for his MFA in Theatre Management and Producing. Current Booking Administrator for Broadway and Beyond Theatricals and Thesis Operations Manager for Columbia University. Experience includes Labor Relations for Nederlander Producing Company, Norwegian Cruise Lines as a Theatrical Operations Manager (SIX the Musical), and Executive Director of the ACCC. Producer of The Three Penny Opera (Columbia University). Katy Sherman (Producer/Costumer) is a local actor, director, and producer, is delighted to join the Triple Espresso team—a show she has cherished for years. By day, Katy serves as Managing Director of 4 Community Theatre (4CT) and oversees operations at the Plymouth Playhouse. She also co-directs 4CT’s middle school theatrical productions in collaboration with Orono Community Education, where she serves as an arts consultant and grant writer. She is also a co-founder of Rags-to-Rags Productions. Katy attributes her theatrical journey's success to her loving husband, Dan, and their amazing kids Bella, Gabe, Daniel, and Greta, who have been her biggest cheerleaders every step of the way.
Thomas Branham (Producer/House Manager) is an actor, director, and producer based in the Twin Cities area. He is thrilled to be part of the Triple Espresso family. Family is central to all Thomas does, whether by creating a theater family for the middle school students at 4 Community Theatre, where he serves as Board President, or spending time with his “lobster” Christy Branham and their children, Whitnee, Camille, and Carter. Thomas is a co-founder of Rags-to-Rags Productions and is looking forward to brewing up more shows for audiences in the near future. Thomas would like to thank his family for their unwavering support in bringing his passions to life.
Michael Klaers (Lighting Designer) is the lighting designer for the Triple Espresso–a show that was supposed to run for eight weeks. Other regional theater credits include The Guthrie Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park; Seattle Children’s Theatre; Indiana Repertory Theatre; Syracuse Stage; Pittsburgh Public Theatre; Repertory Theatre of St. Louis; Idaho Shakespeare Festival; Great Lakes Theater; Milwaukee Rep; Pacific Conservatory Theatre; Ensemble Theater Company; Santa Barbara Dance Theater.
