Department Notes:
The UASPA Theatre Department offers a comprehensive 4-year curriculum that teaches acting, directing, design, production, and theatre history and criticism in order to prepare our students for collegiate programs, conservatories, or professional theatrical work upon graduation. Through our unique partnership with Epic Theatre Company, students are given opportunities to train and perform with professionals both in the school and throughout the city. Our students also take part in the TDF Wendy Wasserstein Project and the Broadway League Diversity Internship-- each offering a unique chance to appreciate and more deeply examine the inner-workings of Broadway and off-Broadway theatre.

Department Notes:
Students engage in becoming well-rounded dance artists. Dance major classes are a training ground to give students the tools they need to pursue both a professional dance career and various fields related to dance. In essence the program focuses on Modern, Ballet, African, and Dance composition where students choreograph their own dance works. Students engage in learning the principles and elements of each dance style. Dance training is intensive and covers a spectrum of dance content with an emphasis on technique, body awareness, choreography, improvisation, performance, and personal creativity.
