Director's Note
Nostalgia. That’s the word that comes to mind when working on this show. The story and the characters remind me of when my own kids were young and how much they loved watching the movie. What fun and beautiful memories! All of the conflict teenage drama and scenarios seems to resonate with so many students. I can’t tell you how many of them have begged me to direct this over the years, and I have always refused.
But then we opened Pieper, and I finally decided it was time. My hope with this musical is that it can be a venue toward the campus truly being “all in this together.” The message of the show is simple but powerful: we don’t have to “stick to the status quo.” We can break out of whatever box we’re in, and we can be who we want to be. My hope is that we can celebrate our new campus with this show and that it can be a tribute to the students and adults who are creating a powerful Warrior culture.
So, please enjoy the spectacle and sentiment of this beloved Disney musical!
