“I have been acting since I was at primary school. And I’ve loved doing it ever since. Becoming someone else has always fascinated me. I have been doing the HNC/HND for two years now and it has given me invaluable experience and education of the industry.After my course is finished I would like to gain more of experience of the professional industry. I would like to go on and pursue more of the acting side as that is my strongest aspect.”

MELANIE HOPKINS
as Mimi Marquez (Fri & Sat eve)
"Hi, I’m Mel Hopkins and I am currently studying HND Musical Theatre at Perth College UHI. Being one of the oldest students in the class, I returned to college last year after spending some time focusing on my family. I have since completed my HNC in Musical Theatre and performed in a production of Bad Girls the Musical with Ad Lib Theatre Arts. Since studying Musical Theatre, I have become a more confident person, and I feel that I have finally found what I want to do in life. After completing my HND, I plan to take a gap year and put myself out there, gain experience in the industry and then return to college to complete a degree in Musical Theatre."

"Hi I'm Mark, I am 22 years old and have performed in 22 theatrical productions since I began performing at the age of 18. I am thrilled to be participating in HND Musical Theatre and to be playing one of my dream roles, Mark Cohen in one of my favourite musicals, RENT."

"Leaving school in sixth year I only had a vague idea of what I wanted to do, but now after many joys and challenges I've grown into the person I'm wanting to be. This course has given me the opportunities to push myself and throughout each rehearsal I've learned something valuable I didn't know before. It's been so insightful and I can't wait to see what the rest of it holds."
