"First of all I would like to say thank you for coming along and supporting this production. This project has been a huge team effort. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. The production you are about to see is a culmination of many months of hard work and is a collabaritve effort involving 4 different cohorts of students from Perth College UHI;
· HND TECHNICAL THEATRE
· HND MUSICAL THEATRE
· HNC MUSICAL THEATRE
· BA MUSIC PERFORMANCE
We should all be very proud of the student involvement. They have all engaged in this production in a professional manner. The Arts is a competitive industry and I believe it is our job to educate the students to the highest standard possible in order to train them for the harsh reality of this industry.
I must take a minute to mention a few special people who have given up their own time to assist with this production. First of all the lovely Jason Wotherspoon for organising the band, arranging music, attending rehearsals and buying coffee when it was too early for gin! Secondly, Albert Williamson - who would have known not only are you a very talented pianist you are also the best scaffolder! Thank you for putting up scaffold to support the wonderful set designed and constructed by Steven Reid and the Tech students. Also a massive thank you to Lisa Lulis who you can hear tonight playing piano. Lisa is a lecturer here at Perth College and has a young family but gave up her own time to play for this production. Its a breath of fresh air to meet a like minded female who shares the same values regarding teaching and learning. Thank you to Rosie our wonderful voice lecturer on the Musical Theatre courses. Rosie has been there through all the rehearsals and has been my rock throughout this. Finally I must say a huge thank you to my wonderful Musical and Technical Theatre students. This has certainly been a journey. I hope you have had a wonderful experience and created memories. I am very privelliged to work with you all. Your talent, eagerness to learn and thirst for knowledge never ceases to amaze me.
Finally this production is also assessment for the students. Please respect and encourage them throughout.
Thank you for your time - hope you enjoy."
