Those of us who are familiar with the story of Footloose often describe it as the story about "the town where dancing is against the law." The author of the film and musical, Dean Pitchford, states that his vision of Footloose is actually "the story of a man who's lost his son, a boy who's lost his father, and how those two help each other to heal." Creating a production that showcases the relationships and emotions of these characters is at the heart of our production of Footloose. The emotional journey of forgiveness, redemption, and healing of all the people in the fictional town of Bomont is what connects them to each other. And that journey is also how we as the audience find our connection to them...along with some wonderful music along the way. This show has been a huge undertaking that would not have been successful without the help and collaboration of some very important people. We all came together with the same goal: giving these kids their moment to shine. I couldn't have asked for a better team in this effort. You each have my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation.
Natlie Griffiths – A 'Thank You' is not nearly enough to express my gratitude for all your help in making this show happen. You jumped in with both feet from day one and helped me, and the kids, in so many (many!) ways. I cannot imagine having done Footloose without you, nor will I ever forget the "dead horse." Let me use my best PROJECTION to say, Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
Megan Dearth – Footloose would not be what it is without your amazing choreography! Thank you for helping us kick off our Sunday shoes to bring this musical to life, and for your insight and ideas that were always so helpful. I'm so grateful you were a part of this production.
Dave Griffiths – Thank you for your willingness to help our kids find their strongest voices and everything else you did too, and the enthusiasm and experience you always brought to the process.
Jace Crossland – Thank you for all the extra help you gave to the kids with their songs so that they could be their best. I appreciate your willingness to help, and I know the kids did too.
Jon Rhodes – Thank you for lighting the way for our students and their musical success on stage in this production. We couldn't do it without you!
Anna Wilhelm – Without you, our kids' voices could not be heard. Your time and commitment to making sure the voices of so many kids were indeed heard is greatly appreciated.
