She Loves Me - April 30 - May 02, 2019

Park View High

 End Notes

Notes from the Director ...

"She Loves Me" has been a wonderful, emotional, roller-coaster of a production. From the early days of encouraging my choral students to "try the musical", to casually asking a few band members if they would be interested in pit (and getting sixteen willing, talented players) and straight through the normal (and not so normal) hills and valleys that come with any production, it has been one wild ride. These students and production staff have put together a musical in just 35 daysOh yes, if you add it up ... it was just 35 days. Sure, there were some "sour notes", "forgotten lines" and missed "Q's" along the way but this talented ensemble came together, grew together, committed together and made the best of the practically impossible.

Putting "time frames" and "hills and valleys" aside for a moment, I want to stress that a successful  production must be something beyond what we see on the stage during performance The experience should bring growth and maturity to the artist, the person and the spirit inside every member of the cast and production staff. By that yard stick "She Loves Me" was every bit a success. Over the last month these mighty few have laid aside egos, sleep, days off, and personal feelings to support each other and work together regardless of the "uncharted territory" we covered. For that I am proud of and thankful for each and every one of you.

I am also beyond words to be able to thank Kirk, Jeanene, Harlie, Rachel, Karen, Kym, Kathy and Becky ... without you there would be no "She Loves Me".

I hope you find many enjoyable moments, much laughter, and heart-felt pride at the talent of your friends and family over the next few hours and we hope to see you at future Park View Fine Arts Productions.

Thank you and Goodnight

David Sweet
