NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR
Words cannot express the depth of gratitude and pride I am overcome with debuting this production. I can confidently say that none of this would have been accomplished without the commitment and collaboration from my incredibly talented peers. It truly takes a village, and my God, have we grown the most beautiful village. When I had the idea to direct and produce a production of the incomparable Clare Barron’s ‘DANCE NATION’, it would be an understatement to admit I was completely unaware of what I was getting myself into. My fear was palpable and while ideas were grandiose, execution was tentative. I often say producing is like trying to put a screen protector on your phone; the second you smooth a bubble out two more pop up. However, a lot of smoothing bubbles later, it is safe to say none of this would be possible without the unrelenting support and passion curated by the incredible team fostered at Parent Theatre. You are witnessing the devotion from a company of the most passionate, awe-inspiring, and talented kind. I am indescribably honored to share space with, learn from, and grow with these people. This is just the beginning. And thank you immensely for witnessing the beginning. This has been the greatest experience an artist only dreams of; a space to try and fail and try again.

THE CAST: I am in utter awe of your work. I could not dream of a better cast to share this story with and I simply cannot thank you enough for putting your trust in me. You made it all too easy.
CAGLA: Thank you for your diligence and commitment to this project. Your ideas are incomparable, and your vision is simply inspiring.
STEPHEN: Your designs are greater than I could ever imagine. I am utterly grateful for how malleable and dependable you are. You really brought this story to life.
KEALANI: My gratitude cannot express how thankful I am for your work and commitment to the project.
GEORGIA: You have fostered the most beautiful and safe space. Your brought this project to the next level.
KAYLA: Thank you for jumping in and bringing these moments to life. I am honored.
LYDIA: From the very beginning, I owe you so much. Your constant composure, dedication, and remarkable ideas have made this project. You’re utterly influential in nurturing this project and it has been my greatest pleasure to work with you.
NAVA: I don’t think I can put into words my gratitude. Your patience, organization, and passion has been the most integral part of this project. My easiest job throughout this whole process was trusting you.
AUBREY & ORLI: You both have made this the most enriching experience. Your aid, guidance, and support, simply made this project what it is. I am overwhelmingly dignified.
JADENE & ESTHER: I could not have done this without you. I truly will never have the words.
ROYAL FAMILY PRODUCTIONS: Thank you for taking a chance on this group of young artists. You have made this an unforgettable experience. You have made our dreams come true.
