Dear Patrons,

Welcome to our delightful production of "THE ONE ACT PLAY DISASTER" a farcical comedy that promises an evening filled with laughter, absurdity, and uproarious entertainment! For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the term "farce," allow us to provide a glimpse into the hilarious world you are about to experience.

What is a Farce?

A farce is a comedic genre characterized by exaggerated situations and absurd misunderstandings. In farces, the humor often arises from improbable events, rapid-paced dialogue, and the actions of larger-than-life characters. Think of it as a whirlwind of comical chaos where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and the unexpected is the norm.

Why Farce?

Farces serve as a delightful escape from the everyday, inviting us to laugh at the absurdity of life and revel in the joy of shared laughter. They challenge our perceptions of reality, inviting us to embrace the sheer silliness of the human experience.

We invite you to suspend disbelief, let go of the ordinary, and join us in celebrating the art of farce. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be thoroughly entertained!

The Setting of "THE ONE ACT PLAY DISASTER"

In "The One Act Play Disaster", we are to believe that the students are putting on their own original adaptation of "Oceans Eleven". It is opening night, and nothing is going right. Student 'directors' Ava and Louise are at a loss for the set. Actors are being replaced last minute with scripts in hand. Actors are sick, others just unprepared. And worst of all, stage fright is rearing its ugly head.

This show was a challenge for both our cast, crew, and student leaders. We worked through the process to create the illusion of a show that is just falling apart from all angles.

Thank you for joining us tonight, and we hope you enjoy the hilarity that awaits you!

Warmest regards,

Neil Hong
