Scene I: The Palace of Theseus
THESEUS, HIPPOLYTA, EGEUS, DEMETRIUS, LYSANDER, HERMIA, HELENA
As Theseus and Hippolyta anticipate their wedding, they meet the nobleman Egeus, who wants his daughter Hermia to marry Demetrius. However, Hermia plans to elope with Lysander. Her friend Helena decides to tell Demetrius this so that she may win his love.

As Titania falls asleep, Oberon casts the spell on her. Puck also casts the spell on a sleeping Lysander with disastrous results.
