DIRECTOR'S NOTES
When asked again to direct for Olive Branch, for a show to go up for the Christmas season, the old favorite “A Christmas Carol” came to mind. Being a native Brit, this story unfolded to me as a young child & as an adult still holds a place in my soppy silly heart.
But the thought of doing just the same old same old, got me to pondering ya'll. With Newhall so immersed in a western like theme along its walkways & other parts, why not give the old tale a twist and make it a "Cowboy Christmas Carol". Yehaa.
One cannot outdo the writings of Dickens, and one should not try, but I hazard a guess that old Charlie himself would give a wry smile to see his beloved tale become westernized. If not, I expect a Ghostly visit sometime soon!
The tale is the same, we just added a good old western hoedown. So saddle up, don a stetson and let's mosey on down to the Wild Wild West Bank of Newhall & let the story begin.
