Oak Hill High School

 End Notes

Welcome to Oak Hill High School for our 2018 spring musical, Annie!. This musical is our fourth one produced in a row. Our previous productions included: The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, and Fiddler on the Roof. It has been remarkable to watch how the drama program has developed during this time period. There is nothing about the performance you are about to experience that will strike you as a “high school” production. In fact, if you are here and haven’t seen any of the previous three musicals, prepare to be truly amazed.

There is so much that happens to make a production like this successful.  Obviously, there are many talented young performers, but there are also set design and construction crew members, choreographers, parents who chip in with meals, costume designers with support staff, as well as hours upon hours of rehearsals, marketing, ticket sales, playbill editing, orchestra pit and many others. The list goes on and on, but there is one remarkable person who deserves unique recognition...our director, Miss Aeron Kincaid.

Oak Hill High School drama has a rich history. Many in our audience will remember the late Tom Huber who was the driving force behind the drama program for decades. Miss Kincaid has continued to build upon this foundation laid by Tom to showcase talent of which the entire Oak Hill community can be immensely proud. Miss Kincaid is doing more than producing plays; she is providing a rich learning environment for our students to learn the value of perseverance, friendship, leadership and teamwork.

Please sit back and enjoy the show. Afterwards, if you get a chance, I encourage you to share with Miss Kincaid your appreciation for what she has brought to our school and the greater Oak Hill community. What she’s doing is probably not a secret anymore, but if you happen to run into patrons in our community, make sure to tell them what is happening in our drama program. I’m positive you’ll be just as proud of them as I am.
