“Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Nyack Drama Club’s production of ALICE IN WONDERLAND by Lewis Carroll. This year I have chosen a children’s classic story, in Alice, and a light hearted return to the 80’s and roller disco with XANADU.
We’d like to introduce you to Alice as she goes through the looking glass to find a world both clear and recognizable yet turned sideways. Come join us on a journey through Alice’s dream world where we’ll meet a strange assortment of characters, a talking caterpillar, sleepy mice, and a rabbit that is always late. Alice reminds us to never lose the wonderment we have as a child and to dream fantastic wonderful things.
I dedicate this production to my aunt, Nancy Cunnane , a remedial reading teacher for over 25 years in the NYC Board of Education. An avid reader herself, she took great pleasure in leading children through the adventure of reading a good book. Rest in peace Aunt Nance.
In closing, as always, I would like to thank the administration, teachers and staff of Nyack High School for their never ending support of our students. To our parents, I am so grateful for your commitment and understanding of the importance of theatre in the education of your children’s lives.
Sincerely,
Joesph Egan
