A Note From The Director

"It is only in sorrow that bad weather masters us; in joy we face the storm and defy it." Amelia Barr

The lessons of this season have been many. Learning to do virtual rehearsals, learning choreography off video, and learning to flex when the weather didn't cooperate are just a few of them. "Patience, Nibs" may have been heard a time or two from several in our cast, crew, and director team. Our students have learned to take virtual coaching and come out as better performers—not an easy task for high schoolers. In the grand scheme of things, I have never been as proud of a group of directors for their perseverance in the face of several storms and major schedule changes that have made rewriting rehearsal plans a daily chore. Also, I have never been more proud of a group of students who have shown great maturity in finding unique ways to overcome 12 missed rehearsals. Things may be a little rough in spots, but NHS Fine Arts has "defied the weather" with great joy, so sit back and enjoy our version of Sister Act. My personal thanks to the parents who have rallied when we called in the cavalry, the students who have hung there as we have "figured it out," the Creative Team who have stepped up to make this show amazing, the community who supports us even when things get rough, and the amazing Nevada Community School District who don't tell me "no."  Instead they say, "Yes! How can we make this happen?"
