Nathan Hale School

 Optional Content

Much like the story of our show, our set is part of the great Circle of Life as well. 95% of our set is part of a recycling, upcycling and downcycling system. From the donationed cardboard to repurposing items/materials from their original state to add strucure to the set, we have transformed our set.

Materials used for our set include but not limited to: air conditioner boxes, breakfast boxes, framing paper, styrofoam, recylced tape, newspaper cable ties, and much more.

Some of our set has been loaned from a previous production of The Lion King Kids from Bryant Elementary School (Jordan Dylan). This includes some of our backdrops, animal cut outs, and set pieces.

Our Pride Rock is made out of school breakfast boxes which are reinforced by popsicle sticks and tapes. The texture of the rock is created by tissue paper and glue.

Through the leadership of Stephanie Smelser, our cast and crew have learned how to repurpose every day items to create an intricate theatrical set.

In the spirit of the Circle of Life, our goal is that this set can be adopted by another production The Lion King or can provide life to another show that we produce in the future.
