Munster High School

 stay connected!

What a Year!

As we wrap up the 2023-2024 season, we are once again ending on a very high note. This season has been just as successful as the previous one.

We opened the season with The Merry Wives of Windsor, giving our students the opportunity to work on a Shakespearean show.  This show made MTC history as it was the first time that MTC has ever produced a Shakespearean show on our stage.  We had planned to do so in the spring of 2020, but Covid forced us into a virtual performance.

Our contest season was likewise extremely successful.  MTC brought home its THIRD CONSECUTIVE Regional Championship.  And for the first time, WWTC advanced to state while competing at a high school regional.  Our state results were also very favorable, as MTC placed third, and WWTC placed 8th out of the ten competing schools.  On top of that, the MTC contest show was named Chapter Select, which means it will perform and represent Indiana at the International Thespian Festival this June.

State also saw Evvy Kikkert and Clover Sarkady earn over $100,000 in college scholarship offers.  Our Thespy entries were also successful, with our Group Acting entry of Evvy Kikkert, Clover Sarkady, and Wesley Harle taking Best of Show.  They will be competing at the International Thespian Festival.

Looking forward, our summer camp registration for students entering grades 6-9 this fall opens on May 1. See this program for more details.  We'll be particpating in the National Night Out on August 6 as well.

Finally, we are excited that our performance spaces will be getting renovated later this year.  This does mean some adjustments to our season.  Rest assured, WE WILL STILL BE CREATING THEATRE!  In the coming weeks we will be announcing our musical, which will be presented in the fall to accommodate the construction.   The rest of our season will be likewise revealed in the coming weeks and months.

Thank you for all you do to support  our young actors, designer, and technicians.  As you can see, we are much more than just a "drama club."  We develop so much in young people through all of the work we create.  And we thank you for allowing us to share that work with you!
