Peter and the Starcatcher - October 11 - October 12, 2024

Mountain Home High School

 Acknowledgements

Peter and the Starcatcher is more than a tale of how an orphan boy became Peter Pan. It is a story of strength, hope in the darkness, and finding your true calling. This play not only speaks to the courageous spirit of young children, it also shows the true power of storytelling.

Our Fall production follows this story as we challenged our actors to step up and explore new roles - both on and off the stage. As a Director, I couldn't be more proud of the work that we have done. As a teacher, I watch each of you with pride. As an artist, I am overjoyed to work with these budding artists. My first thank you is to the cast and crew of this show. You have made my first production one I will not soon forget. I look forward to creating more theatre with you all.

Thank you to Gary Maupin for answering my unending questions and always leading with a helping hand.

I would also like to thank the administration and staff of Mountain Home High School, Mary Beth Russell, our district staff, and our Superintendent - Allyson Dewey.

This show wouldn't have been possible without the hard work on my Costume Design and Technical Theatre classes. They helped create many of the pieces that you are seeing today.

Next, I want to thank all of the parents with students who have worked on this production. You have made it possible for these students to create a beautiful show and gain valuable experience along the way.

Thank you to you as our audience. Theatre doesn’t exist without someone to share it with, and we hope that you have felt part of this story.

I would be remiss to not thank Karen Maupin. Words can not express the gratitude that I have for you as a theatre educator. Not only did you build a wonderful program that I get to reap the benefits of, but you gave me my start in theatre. I will be forever grateful for the lessons I learned from you, and I hope to make you proud.

Finally, thank you to my loving family - Kaylee, Ozro, Mom, and Dad. Kaylee, you’ve picked up my slack and helped me work through so much. You are my sounding board and my artistic partner. I know that I couldn’t do what I do without you. Mom and Dad, thank you for stepping up and being the best grandparents and support system. Ozro, I pray that you see the passion in these students' eyes and are inspiried to chase after your own stars.
