  • Maeve Nash

    Director

    Maeve Nash is the Educational Specialist for Fine Arts Projects in the FCPS Fine Arts Office, where she oversees the revitalization of the Institute for the Arts, FCPS's summer arts enrichment camp. Previously, she served as the Acting Theatre and Dance Specialist for the district and taught Theatre Arts at West Springfield High School, leading an award-winning drama department. You may have seen her beaming proudly from backstage at the 2024 Cappies Gala where her students performed “The Ballad of Sweeney Todd” to a screaming Concert Hall. Maeve is also the Program Director for the Cappies of the National Capital Area and director of the 2023 and 2024 Cappies Galas, as well as the upcoming 2025 Gala. This is her first time directing with MVCCT and she is thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community.

  • Michael Barranco

    Music Director

    Dr. Michael Barranco currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia as a multifaceted musician in the fields of performance, education, and instrument repair. As an educator, Michael leads percussion studies at NOVA Community College and teaches K-8 general and instrumental music at Burgundy Farm Country Day School. Additionally, he is active in the Northern Virginia community, leading percussion programs in secondary schools and camps throughout the area. As a performer, he holds the position of principal percussionist with the American Festival Pops Orchestra and is a regular performer with the IN Series Opera Company. Michael's research focuses on the timbral qualities of acoustic percussion instruments. Michael is endorsed by Artifact Percussion.
