Mary Blackburn (Choreographer)
was the founder and Artistic Director of the American Dance Ensemble in New York City, and of Urban Artworks at the NYC Pace Downtown Theater. She worked as a teaching artist for many years with the Lincoln Center Institute and served on the faculty of the American College Dance Festival, Dance Space Studios and the Peridance International Dance Center in NYC. Ms. Blackburn was the Artistic Director of the Dance Company at MHS for 10 years and has been the dance instructor here for 19 years. She continues her dance training with the New Jersey Ballet and recently received her 500 RYT yoga certification in Thailand.

Sam Gordon (Lighting Designer)
is a freelance lighting designer and technician and is pleased to be lighting SVPA's spring musical again this year. Recent projects include MHS's In the Heights, Chamber Music, and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Radiant (Red Fern), Barefoot in the Park (Surflight), The King & I (Harbor Lights), and Persuasion (Secret Theatre). Sam is a guest artist at the Ramaz Upper School since 2011 and at MHS since 2012. When not in the theatre, Sam can be found figure skating in his nonexistent free time. He holds a BFA in Theatre: Production/Design from Montclair State University.

Kevin Johnson (Sound Designer)
Rent is Kevin Johnson’s first musical at MHS SVPA. Previous high school musicals include Pippin, Sweeney Todd, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Westfield High School, where he was production manager from 2008-2012. Since graduating from Syracuse University in 2004, Kevin has worked as a sound designer, television engineer, and public school teacher. He currently teaches Broadcasting in the Hawthorne Public Schools.
