Mamma Mia! - April 08 - April 10, 2022

Millbrook High School

 End Notes

The selection of the musical always proves to be challenging from year to year.  This year was no different.  The production team went through multiple options, keeping in mind that what we wanted was something that was going to be fun and exciting.  I don’t think anything can be more exciting than the nostalgic sounds of ABBA.  ABBA’s music, while popular in the late 1970’s, transcends generations and still remains relevant, even through TikTok.

I am extremely proud of the work of these students, both members of the cast and crew.  The learning and changing in each individual is what makes this experience so meaningful to me.  Whether singing in a new range, making decisions within the blocking of the show, listening to peer leaders, or through interpersonal communication, these students learned a great deal, whether or not they realize it.

A lot went into this show and I would be remiss if I didn’t take time to personally and publicly thank Garrett Jones for his care, expertise, and transparency throughout this experience.  While there was much to do, we continued to work together in a supportive relationship that fostered learning and an overall positive experience for the students.  This show could not have happened without his work.  Thank you!!
