DIRECTOR'S NOTE:

Going back to the beginning of the Golden Age of Disney, we bring ourselves to “The Little Mermaid”. A timeless classic which has embedded itself in young and old alike. The opportunity to do this show has excited the students, staff, and community as we have worked to bring it to life. This year has presented its own set of circumstances and challenges that we had never had to deal with before, between long delays, closures, masks, and missing people each week due to quarantining. The perseverance of the cast and crew has been incredible to be able to push this show through the process to get it ready for the stage. This group of students has been amazing and I know that you are going to enjoy their work. I can’t thank them all enough for continuing to strive for the vision and standard for which we want to achieve.

The Drama Club at the High School continues to show its heart and efforts this year with “The Little Mermaid”. The well-known songs and lines will have the audience tapping their feet and joining in. Each year the goal is to grow the club and the show and to bring something truly special to the school and the community. These students, many returning from previous shows, and many first year performers, have been discovering and growing their appreciation for theater. They have come energized, tackling long hours, and ready to offer their time and their own ideas.

We are excited to be presenting the classic “The Little Mermaid” to you all, and hope that you love the excitement and take the messages of true love, hope, and perseverance with you. Enjoy the show!

PRODUCER'S NOTE:

It is so hard to believe that the 2020-21 MCHS Musical Disney’s The Little Mermaid is almost over.  When we began planning this production, we had no idea that in two weeks, our world would literally be turned upside down by Covid-19.  For the past year, our production team, cast, and crew have been working through a lot of adversity but here we are.

I can’t stress how proud I am of these young men and women.  I would also like to thank all the adults who have worked tirelessly to support our students and help with this production.  Through hard work and determination, we have demonstrated that even through a pandemic, MCHS Drama Club “rocks!”
