Middleton Players Theatre would like to acknowledge the land we stand upon and the labor that has shaped it.
We gather today on the ancestral lands of the Ho Chunk, who have stewarded this land for countless generations.
We pay our respects to their elders: past, present, and emerging, and express our gratitude for their ongoing connection to this place. We strive to recognize and honor the Indigenous peoples' enduring relationship with the land, as well as the ongoing struggle for justice, self-determination, and the protection of their cultural heritage.
We also acknowledge the history of exploitation, discrimination, and injustices that have been inflicted upon laborers, including the enslavement of people primarily of African descent, indentured servitude, child labor, and unsafe working conditions. We recognize the ongoing struggle for fair wages, equal opportunities, and dignified treatment for people across the globe. We are committed to promoting a culture of respect, dignity, and fairness in all aspects of our organization
and will strive to eliminate any form of discrimination, harassment, or exploitation within our community.
