Director's Notes

Despite my first introduction to Footloose only being eight years ago, I have fallen in love with this show and found something new and interesting every time I watch it. There is a wonderful balance of lightheartedness to go along with the serious moments, and without fail, I cannot watch the finale without smiling and wanting to get up and dance myself. 

Once again, the students of the Methacton High School Theatre Company have shown that they not only meet every expectation put on them, they exceed it. The lighthearted moments make me laugh out loud, the serious moments make me catch my breath, and the finale… honestly, I’ll be lucky if I make it through the run of the show without dancing in the aisles along with the cast. 

Each show our students perform raises the bar a little higher for what’s to come. I am excited to have such a talented cast and crew of students to work with and learn from, along with colleagues that feel like family and are always there to lean on. I certainly could not do this all on my own, and thank you does not seem like nearly enough to capture all of the long hours, late nights, and early mornings everyone has sacrificed!

Now, with all of our hard work behind us, I invite you to sit back, relax, and get ready to  CUT FOOTLOOSE!
