Directing this production of Urinetown, the Musical, has been like no other experience I could have ever dreamed up. When we first started planning a Spring Musical, we weren’t even sure if or how often we would get to rehearse in person together. We auditioned fully virtually, started rehearsals with a mix of in person and virtual students, and had a Zoom link available for every rehearsal right up until the bitter end, which almost always had at least one person on it.
Through it all, the members of the Methacton High School Theatre Company never gave up. They worked harder and more intensely than many other performers I have seen that are twice their age. It was like everyone knew that if we could just get a little further each day, we would make it to the end and be able to stage our full production despite the setbacks, the restrictions, the uncertainty surrounding every aspect of life this year. What a hard, cold, tumble of a journey it has been getting to this point, but I am so proud and grateful to say that they did it!
Congratulations to the entire cast, crew, and production staff of this show. We could not have gotten to this point without the individual efforts of each and every one of you.
