The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon - May 04 - May 05, 2018

Meridian Drama Club

 End Notes

Notes from the director...

It wasn't in my master plan to direct two shows this year, but I knew in my gut that I had to work with this group of seniors one more time. I also knew their skillset... comedy. Although they make me laugh on a daily basis, they'd never been fully given the opportunity to show our audience this talent. I chose The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon because I knew it would showcase my seniors--they did not disappoint.

To my seniors...

Corryn Brock- Thank you for being my right-hand in both drama and journalism. I appreciate you more than you will ever know. You have an uncanny knack for making me smile when my world is stressful. I truly hope I've done the same for you when you've needed it.

Ian Carnahan- Thank you for being SOOOO funny. Your ability to infuse so much character into your parts is something I will miss, and although there are many roles I've enjoyed watching, your depiction of Lonny in Rock of Ages was my all-time favorite!

Kaiden Damery- It is unfortunate that this show was your largest role for me. I've LOVED your energy and ability to make everyone else feel at ease. You are motivational, and I wish we had the opportunity to work together on more shows than just two.

Jake Deetz- I am literally crying as I type this. Who knew when I used you for our Grease production (when you were just in 8th grade) that you would become such a pivotal part of this program. You have been a male lead in almost all of my shows and someone will have big shoes to fill next year. Thank you for continually stepping up and being there when I needed a concession stand worker, or a male lead because ours moved away. You rise to the occasion every time it's needed and I will miss this.

Nate Durbin- Thank you for giving drama a shot. I value your ability to listen and follow directions so closely. I know you're busy with many other sports/clubs, but I'm glad you gave this one a try before leaving Meridian.

Drew Eickhoff- Thank you for consistently lighting up our stage! It's crazy to think that your journey with this drama program started on a bus to the church in Forsyth. You've provided lights for us at three different venues, and I will miss having you.

Cameron Getz- I will miss telling you to stop saying words you know drive me insane--mostly booky.

Giorgia Iannone- Thank you for stepping in when we needed a part filled. I hope your experience in drama was something you will be able to tell others about when you go home.

Connor Hurelbrink- Although I will miss your presence as HEAD USHER, I am thrilled I got to work with you as an actor! Your ability to make me laugh will be missed, not only on the stage but also in the classroom. I wish you the best of luck in the business world.

Spencer Litteral- It has been so much fun to watch you grow as an actor. I believe your rolls in this show are PERFECT for you! If being a journalist doesn't work out (although I'm sure it will), your fall-back career should definitely be as a game show host!

MaKenzie Oakley- I appoligize for all the times I spelled your name wrong OR labeled you as the sound person. If it's any concellation, I absolutely have these things straight in my head now. I will miss your easy-going attitude and how you respond to every request I make of you with, "Ms. Moooore!"

Karena Ozier- You have one of the most unique personalities of all my seniors. You are quirky, funny, and easy to get along with. I can always count on you to make things interesting. Thank you for being a person I could use for set design or as an actor. I will miss your flexibility in this program.

Makayla Sims- I know doing drama is outside your comfort zone, but I'm glad I talked you into trying it out. I appreciate all the hours you dedicated to our set--outside of the time that was required of you. You came to my rescue several times, and I thank you for that.
