Dear Parents,

     As a school principal, I often wonder who I remind parents and students of the most: Principal Seymour Skinner, Mr. Ed Rooney, Mr. Woodman or Miss Agatha Trunchbull.  It all seems so unfair….a cartoon, a loon, a curmudgeon, and an unfit leader who rarely smiles.  Principals in the movies are constantly looking out for flying hammers and javelins. Thankfully, I’m quick on my toes.

     In the words of Matilda, “Just because you find that life is not fair, it doesn’t mean that you just have to grin and bear it.” Life may throw challenges your way, but remember, your resilience and determination can overcome any obstacle. Matilda is a journey of self-discovery and growth just like each of us.  Don’t settle for just grinning and bearing it.  Be brave, take risks, and stay optimistic.

     Embrace your uniqueness, celebrate your individuality, and stand tall in the face of adversity. Remember, it is okay to be different because that is what makes you extraordinary. Our students, parents, and extended family members are looking forward to seeing all of the extraordinary talent that will shine on stage as you perform Matilda Jr.   

     Thank you Mrs. Stone, Mrs. Silvey, Mrs. Dalal, and all of our volunteers!  Enjoy the show and hopefully Miss Trunchbull will break a leg!
