Stone .
as Alan Raleigh
Stone comes to us all the way from Stratford-upon-Avon and has acted, directed, worked backstage, and done costuming for MCT. Their most memorable experience, however, was directing Jack the Ripper. “It was an incredible experience, even if it did end up being a lot more hands-on due to my complicated stage designs… my bad.”
When asked about their “dream role,” Stone said that they hope to someday direct one of Shakespeare’s plays, but that they’ve also always loved the idea of playing Hamlet . . . not at the same time though because “I’m not crazy enough to try and be in my own play!”
Stone plays Alan, whom they describe as “a workaholic who’s addicted to his job and phone, but has absolutely terrible people skills… I think I may have been typecast for this role. The biggest issue with this role has been leaving Alan in the theater and not bringing him home with me as we are so similar.”
Stone’s favorite line from God of Carnage is “Fuck the hamster.”
Gray Carlton
as Annette Raleigh
Gray is making her 2nd appearance on the MCT stage, having just played Mollie in The Mousetrap. When asked about her favorite role to date, she was unable to decide between her two MCT performances. “Mollie was my first role outside of high school, and the way her character developed as more secrets came out was the best!” But “Annette has been so fun to play . . . even throwing up on Alan.”
Jumping from a role as a 1940s British housewife straight into that of a modern New Yorker was more difficult than she had expected. After spending so much time rehearsing her British accent for The Mousetrap, she found herself accidentally slipping into it here and there as Annette.
Gray describes her character as two-faced. “She seems like a mother and wife with good intentions – until the rum comes out.” Her favorite line is “I also have a John Wayne-ish idea of virility. And what did he have? A Colt 45!” She has also enjoyed screaming at Veronica.
