Marathon Middle/High School

 A Note From the Director

I can't tell you guys what an amazing whirlwind the past 8 months of my life have been. Last fall, circumstances came together completely unexpectedly to let me live my dream of working as a school theater director, and I'm so greatful that I've landed here at Marathon High School. Thank you to everyone who has been so welcoming and incredibly supportive of my first year in this position. I undoubtedly have made some mistakes while climbing this steep learning curve, but I've never done anything else in my life as satisfying as working with your amazing kids!

I'm blown away by the amount and level of support that I, your kids, and this program have received from every corner. It is clear that the Middle Keys LOVE supporting their live theater, and we're so greatful! Below is just a partial list of the many, many people who have come together to make this show possible.

First, I must thank my fantastic husband, Dr. Tim Crutcher, for all his support and help and all the nights of making his own dinner!

Secondly to Assistant Director/Music Director Destiny Lee for bringing her skill and vision to the show, taking over anything that wasn't getting done, and doing it all with gusto! And for loving on our kids! Asking you to help with the show was the best decision I made!

Next, to my most amazing and fabulous choreographer and emotional support Cami Holdinga for talking me off the ledge more than once! I can't imagine doing another show without her!

And big props and thanks to all of the following:

  • Principal Christine Paul for entrusting me with this project and for her endless support of MHS Drama. We are so fortunate to have supportive administration.

  • Our amazing set construction crew, headed by the best foreman in the world, Tom Diezel! Our shows would not be nearly so fabulous without their hard work, dedication and skills.

  • Odalis Padron, for searching high and low for every cowboy boot and prom dress she could find in the state; Zulma Jimenez for manning front of the house and ticketing; Catherine Dunn for organizing our backstage parents and providing tasty snacks for rehearsals

  • SE Level Construction for the loan of the scaffolding for the set

  • Marathon Community Theater for the loan of costumes and the support of their staff

  • San Pablo Catholic Church for the loan of the choir robes

  • All the other fantastic drama parents for the countless hours of transporting their kids to and from rehearsal, and supporting their participation in the show.

  • And finally, thanks to all of YOU for coming out to see and support our shows and our kids! We couldn't continue doing this without your support!

Now sit back, kick off your Sunday shoes, and get ready to CUT FOOTLOOSE!!
