Seussical Jr. - November 09 - November 11, 2018

Maranatha Christian Schools

 End Notes

I challenge you to imagine that you are a part of this story, a speck of dust floating through the air! Imagine the colors, the characters, the adventures and music so vivid, so large, no distractions, no problems all consuming! "Seussical Jr." will take you on a beautiful journey of love, standing strong for what you believe, helping others and being faithful. The connections to God's word is astounding. The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 4:12

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."

The Story and Connections:

Horton, the elephant, hears what no one else can - the tiny voice from a village on a tiny speck of dust. The voice is calling for help and that is just what Horton does: as Horton says-

"I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful one hundred percent!"

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord we receive the Holy Spirit, that tiny voice that speaks to us, are you listening?

In our story, Horton is determined to help Whoville when no one in his Jungle believes him. He is ridiculed but Horton stays faithful and a true friend to all. His neighbor Mayzie is a self-centered, irresponsible bird who decides to leave her egg in Horton's care. Horton selflessly sits on the egg through many perils caring only for its wellbeing and searching for the Who's. God is in control even when our world is falling apart, much like Horton. When we are faced with challenges and persecution do we stay faithful? My favorite saying is "Keep your eyes on Jesus" especially when the world makes no sense and circumstances are beyond our control.

You will also meet Gertrude, a one-feathered tail bird who secretly loves Horton and is a true friend. The Cat, who weaves in and out creating havoc but only wanting the truth to be told and for JoJo to use her imagination.

There are many lessons in this story such as standing up for those that don't have a voice and can't be heard to making our own voices heard, but mostly this story is about Love and helping others!

I hope as you watch this production that you see the light of Jesus coming from the cast members as they take you on Seussical journey!

"Oh the thinks you can think!

Singing His Praises,
