Every year is a new adventure in drama club, but this year was a completely different kind of adventure! This is my twenty-first children’s musical, my third here at Madera Elementary, and my first done completely virtually. Even though this show is different in form, it is no different in heart. These students worked very hard to bring a show to life through this challenging medium.
This show is a “Jr edition” meaning it can (and frequently is) performed by middle school and high school students. Performing this show at an elementary level is challenging, but even more so when you aren't able to sing with your castmates and you are filming in your living room. But as we know these Mustangs are up for a challenge! I am beyond proud of what we have accomplished and I am amazed by everyone in my talented cast.
This production could not have taken shape without help. I am so thankful to each and every one of you. To my wonderful choreographer Hailey Byron thank you so much for all of your hard work and for attending rehearsals and working with the kids. To my family, thank you for putting up with all of my shenanigans. Melody Dennert, Thank you for your tireless support of the Drama Club-- we couldn’t do it without you. Julie Killian thank you so much for being so supportive of me and the drama club. April Verwey thank you so much for all of your crafting help! A HUGE thank you to Christine Greenberg who took on so many projects and gave so much of her time and energy to make this show special for the kids. Thank you so much to the Madera PTA who allocated funding to help us with this "special edition" show. I would also like to thank all of our patrons who helped us by buying a link to the show or making a donation. We truly appreciate the love and support.
To the Drama Club parents, thank you for allowing me the honor of working with your adorable and incredibly talented children. I hope this show will be a bright light for you as it has for me. To my amazing cast: I am beyond proud of you! I love you all and you did an incredible job! Enjoy The Show!
