This year’s production of “The Lion King” is the first of it’s kind at Lone Oak Elementary. The 3rd grade students and Mr. Davidson (AKA Mr. D and Mr. Music) would like to acknowledge the following for their work with us on the very first Broadway Musical at Lone Oak Elementary School.
- Mr. Pope for allowing us to venture into a new area of musical productions and for his years of leadership that lead to a program of this caliber.
- Mrs. Blackwell for countless hours working with the 3rd grade students on their drama and dance parts in the musical.
- Mr. Smith for creating the backdrop, mask, and various other items needed for the musical.
- Mrs. Keeling for pulling the curtain and keeping us in line behind the curtain.
- Mr. Hedges for motivating us to do our best and making sure we act that way.
- Our 3rd grade teachers for allowing us time to rehearse during the school day and helping us learn our music by playing it in the classroom.
- Ms. Brijit Stiles for putting together the playbill and making sure it is the best it can be and taking pictures before and during the performance.
- Mrs. Nicki Lynch for gathering ads for the playbill and doing those extra little things that help make it all work out.
- Mrs. Tara Moore and the face paint crew for making sure we look good for our parts.
- Mrs. Anne-Marie Whitis for getting the t-shirt order for us because we look good.
- Mr. Jason Orr for cutting out the medallions and building “pride rock” for us.
- Mrs. Shae Weitlauf for making our African kente fabric belts.
- Mrs. Darla and Mrs. Holly for taking phone calls and paperwork for the musical.
- Mr. Paul for making sure the stage was clean and helped set up the risers.
- Mr. John and Ms. Barbie for setting up the chairs and cleaning up after the program.
- Our parents for believing in us that we could do anything!
- The Lone Oak Elementary PTO for purchasing additional sound equipment so that we could present a musical.
