While many people have asked for us to perform a murder mystery, some questioned that choice and the choice of this particular production. Murder mysteries challenge the actors and production team to work as one, like the body of Christ should. A high level of communication, both verbally and nonverbally, is imperative to the success of such a production. We have learned where the holes are in those areas of communication and have tried to fix as many as possible. The cast, many who are first timers to stage, had to truly pay attention to each other while capturing each character portrayed. I am extremely proud of them all.
The choice to do an Agatha Christie was a no-brainer. She is considered the Queen of Crime and the world's best-selling novelist. This year marks 100 years since her famous character Hercule Pioriot and 86 years since her famous character Miss Marple were introduced to the world. I wanted to choose one of her stories that could work with the casting pool that is available at LCA and that would be an unfamiliar journey for our audience to take. The cast, crew, and production staff hope that you enjoy this journey of twists and turns as only Agatha Christie can do.
