  • Jessica Forwerck

    Director

    Jessica Forwerck is the director of Alice by Heart and the founder of Legacy Theater and Music Company, established on the principle of "Arts for All." Legacy Theater offers a creative space for individuals of all skill levels. Jessica is also a vocal instructor and a local musician with Act Two Music.

    Her directing credits include The Drowsy Chaperone, Mamma Mia!, Godspell, Pirates of Penzance Jr., Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, Seussical the Musical, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She directed Legacy’s Into the Woods Jr. at the Junior Theater Festival, where it won Best in Ensemble.

    Jessica is a devoted mother to Ronan and will welcome her second child, Judith Elaine, in November with her husband, Jacob.

  • Jacob Forwerck

    Director/ Spotlight Tech

    Jacob Forwerck is delighted to co-direct Alice by Heart alongside his wife, Jessica. A dedicated father-to-be, Jacob is also a guitar, bass, and ukulele instructor, and a local musician with Act Two Music. His passions extend to philosophy, religion, and music, fields that deeply influence his work and creative expression. Jacob’s commitment to the arts and his multifaceted interests enrich both his professional and personal life.

  • Blake Moran

    Music Director

    P. Blake Moran is a graduate of UNC Greensboro with a degree in Drama and Music. Since graduation, he has worked professionally nationwide as an accompanist, actor, and music director. Select professional theaters include Theatre Aspen (Aspen, CO) and Timber Lake Playhouse (Mt. Carroll, IL). Favorite music directing credits includeRagtimeMamma Mia!The Little MermaidMatilda, and many others. Select acting credits include Legacy’s 2023 production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame (“Quasimodo”), as well as Into the Woods (“Jack”), Cats (“Skimbleshanks”), and Children of Eden (“Japheth”). Beginning this fall, Blake will be returning to UNCG to pursue an MFA in Music Direction for Musical Theatre. He thanks Jess and Legacy for having him back to music direct one of his new favorite shows.
