A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR....

   Welcome to Rumors, the very FIRST production in the HISTORY of LTHS Theater Arts. We have been very excited to take on the challenge of producing an amazing Neil Simon comedy in only five weeks. Simon tends to write more serious literature and Rumors was his first farce. Comic and physical timing is very difficult and the students have attacked that challenge head on.  Rumors is written with witty banter, near misses, and doors slamming. I knew that our audiences would enjoy this delicious comedy. Neil Simon is one of the most prolific of all American playwrights. He has earned multiple Emmy Awards, four Tony Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, a Golden Globe, many Writers Guild of American Awards…just to name a few. Some of his most honored stage titles are: Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, Lost in Yonkers, Barefoot in the Park, Sweet Charity, The Odd Couple, and The Goodbye Girl. Rumors premiered on Broadway in 1988 and ran for 535 performances. Christine Baranski won a Tony Award for her portrayal of Chris Gorman in that production. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of the LTHS Theater Dept. Special thanks need to go to our district Fine Arts staff and Directors, LTHS administration, LTHS staff, our AMAZING BOOSTER CLUB, and all those who helped make this show a success! I would also like to thank the entire CAST AND CREW, as well as our TECH CLASSES! Finally, I would like to thank the support of my wife Christy, and our lovely children for allowing me to spend time away from home to bring this show to life. Rumors is a product of the hard work and dedication of many individuals.  Thank you once again for being an ambassador fo the arts in our public schools! Enjoy Rumors!
