 NOTES

Clue: On Stage

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie, which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth – the butler, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up.

Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!

Director Notes

Dear Patrons of the Arts,

Anyone connected to the theater is familiar with the phrase, “The show must go on.” In spite of missed and/or chaotic rehearsals, infirmed cast members, absent directors, or any number of issues, the show must go on, and this year’s fall play is no different. We faced these issues, yet the show will go on, and we hope you enjoy an incredible night of theater!

I would like to take this opportunity, however, to publicly express my sincere appreciation to this cast, crew, and production staff. You see, I was gone from the process for a few weeks and needlessly worried about the production in my absence. I say needlessly because I work with incredibly talented students and amazingly supportive colleagues who pulled together to continue to run the rehearsals, find the costumes, locate the props, build the sets and create the publicity in my absence. I am indebted to you.

That is why this year’s fall play will be indelible in my mind. I am more than blessed to work with an outstanding cast, crew and production staff who went above and beyond expectations when needed. I hope each person involved knows how much I value your patience, dedication and support.

So please forgive me if this note seems too personal for this format, but if I’ve learned anything recently, it’s to express gratitude, frequently and sincerely. Thank you for being with us tonight. We are excited about the production, and we hope you enjoy the show!

Gratefully,

Susan Rettew
