A Word From Our Director.
I spent the better part of my high school life on Lakeview's stage. From 1994-1999 I appeared in countless roles big and small. I sang, (and poorly danced), in productions of "Hello Dolly," "Music Man," and "Some Enchanted Evening." My junior year, I was given the immense opportunity to play Henry Higgins in "My Fair Lady." I am not using this little letter to inform you, the theatre goer, of my high school theatre greatness. I do want you to know that this stage, this auditorium, and this community mean something to me. When I was blessed to get an opportunity to attend college and study theatre, I never forgot why I wanted to study theatre.
I fell in love with this world because of the Lakeview Community Musical. It was because of people like Jack Ellis, Louise Veltri, Marian Wendall, and Ed Paciorek. These leaders saw talent, and believed in me when I didn't know how to believe in myself. It was because of stage moms and dads like Mary Doll, Kathe Tech-Trivis, and the late Dale Vaughan who treated me with love and respect, and saw me as more than a wild teenage boy, even though I was a wild teenage boy.
I hoped one day to come back and help. I am beyond honored to return to this program as its director.
To the theatre goer: know it is my goal, as well as the goal of the rest of this newly formed Community Theatre Guild, to produce quality theatre and performance experiences that Lakeview Public Schools, the Lakeview community, and the city of Saint Clair Shores will be proud of. This will be done to the best of our ability with all of the talent and technical skill available to us.
To the LCTG member parent: know that I will always encourage, support, and believe in your child. I will always treat them with love and respect, just as this program had done for me more than 25 years ago.
Thank you and enjoy the show.
