A Message from the Director
Thank you for coming to our production of Fools, about a village cursed with stupidity. This is a fun show to do; we hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed rehearsing it. Ironically, Neil Simon wrote this in 1981 to be a flop on Broadway, allegedly so that his wife would not benefit from it in the impending divorce proceedings. He succeeded in a sense, as it did not last long on Broadway, but it has become a popular show for younger casts and audiences. There is a kernel of truth in all of the inanity: we are only as stupid as we allow ourselves to be. In fact, many of the limits we believe we have in our lives are self-inflicted. So enjoy the show and leave here aspiring to be more than the person you are now.
Thank you for being here to support LHHS Drama!
