Believe it or not, Lacordaire's stage has not had a finalized show tread boards since Seussical in April, 2019. Our 2020 production of The Sound of Music was unfortunately cancelled for the same reason we are wearing masks on stage. We are living in a whole new world, with a whole new set of rules, but what has not changed is the AMAZING talent of the Lacordaire Community. Our production of All Together Now! will join thousands of other schools and regional theatres all over the world this weekend. We are coming together as a global community to say, "The arts are still here, and we are better than ever!"
To celebrate that spirit, Lacordaire invited every member of it's community to come together and celebrate the return of live theatre. We have students from grades 2-12, teachers, and alumni of the Academy on the same stage for the first time performing together and showing their love for what they do! As a director, I could not be more proud of how well everyone has come together to create one of the most collaborative musical events in our theatre's history.
I have to say thank you to the fabulous actors and actresses that have put in 9 weeks of hard work to get the show to the level you see today. Not a single one of them has ever had to sing and act in a mask before, but they took it is stride!
I also want to shout out our seniors who are performing in their last musical: Christen Trejo, Constance McLoughlin, and Mollie McLoughlin. Our theatre will miss you but we cannot wait to hear what comes next for you!
Thank you to Nicky Brown and Halle Jules for your hard work and amazing ability to jump in and get this show on it's feet. You both are BRILLIANT!
Thank you Lizzie Owen and Brittany McFarlane for making sure our actors are heard and seen! We would literally be lost without you both.
Thank you to our Assistant Director Mr. Wight, without whom I would have lost my mind. From your diligent notetaking of the craziness that came out of my mind, to your help with the music and speakers, you really are SUPER(califragilisticexpialidocious)!
Thank you to Miss Christina for sharing her brilliant dance moves. Our Newsies would be slipping all over papers, Miss Honey's class would never grow up, and our friends from High School Musical may never have come together, if it weren't for you!
Huge thank you to Mrs. B, our music director. We would be NOTHING without your ability to wrangle all of our voices and create something amazing. We will never be able to go "Back to Before" you because you are simply "Astonshing".
Finally, thank you to our audience, the family and friends of the actors on stage. Without you, everything we do would be for nothing. We love our Lacordaire community and we hope you enjoy the show!
