You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Revised) - May 15 - May 18, 2024

Kokomo Curtain Call Theatre for Children

 Director Notes

A Note from the Directors:

“When do the good things start?”

When Charles Schulz created these beloved characters in the original Peanuts comic strip, he infused them with an understanding that the driving force behind childhood is anticipation- a cocktail of equal parts of hope and uncertainty that underpins who we are.  We may at times channel in Schroeder’s artistic mania, Linus’s preachy intellectualism, Lucy’s social obsession, Sally’s self-absorbed myopia, or Charlie Brown’s navel-gazing anxiety, but it is always driven by that underpinning.  We are all wrestling with some form of anticipation, and this show is really about what happens when those moments of anxiety finally arrive.  What happens when you are robbed of your security blanket?  What happens when you fail to hit that game-winning home run?  What happens when your long-awaited supper finally arrives?  What happens when you learn to find a little bit of happiness in the people around you?  The answer, inevitably, is growth.

What happens when it is show time?

That is when the good things start.
