Heather Achter (Director/Technical Director) is in her 10th year teaching at KMHS. She is excited to be sharing a production table with Miss Bridges who was a senior in Hairspray, Achter’s first musical at the school. She would like to thank her family for being understanding of the long hours and weekends and her wonderful cast and crew for bringing so much joy. This show is dedicated to the seniors. Thank you for all of your time, talents, and memories. I will miss all of you! “Let’s just get off this island, and get at that world.”
Rebekah Bridges (Music Director) is in her second year teaching and first year at Shelby Middle School where she teaches and directs choir, drama, and ukulele. She is thrilled to be sharing the production table with Mrs. Achter, one of her role models and mentors from her senior year musical at KMHS, Hairspray! She graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, studying voice under Professor Jondra Harmon and acting under Dr. Chris Nelson. Theatre has been her happy place for over a decade now, getting her start in the KMHS Theatre department both on- and off-stage and has continued to perform locally at GWU, Greater Shelby Community Theatre, and Little Theater of Gastonia. She is grateful to work with such talented and hard-working students every day and loves getting to share her passion in the place where it all began! She is thankful for her supportive family, The PLC, her snuggly cat, and getting to laugh every day with her friend Achter.
Heather Bundon (Assistant Music Director) is in her 5th year teaching at KMHS and KMMS, where she serves as the Choral Accompanist and Assistant Director for the chorus department. She is so grateful to be able to work with this talented cast. She is thankful for her family, who puts up with her sometimes crazy school schedule, and her students, who make her laugh every single day!
