Les Misérables School Edition - March 30 - April 08, 2017

Jesuit High School

 End Notes

When seen with this perspective, we realize how recent our history actually is, and how often it repeats itself.  As “people of faith, and people for others” when we make our daily drive past the homeless and mentally ill in our streets do we reach out a hand with an energy bar or some change?  Use our votes to try to make a difference not only in our own lives but for those of the sick and suffering?  Do we pray for them? There is always something that can be done.  For the Phils, our outreach in service to others through our art involves supporting Second Harvest Food Bank, our Mock Crash in coordination with Sudden Impact, and our Musical Theatre Workshop with the Children’s Miracle League. In my opinion, the most beautiful line in the show comes in its final moments… “To love another person is to see the face of God…”  Living in service of others in ways both big and small, seeing God in each other, that is the message of Les Mis. What a wonderful expression of our motto, “Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam; For the Greater Glory of God.”

I am so appreciative of the work of our cast, crew, and creative team in putting this show together.  Through multiple accompanists, a six-week rehearsal schedule (interrupted by Mardi Gras and exams), and the support of our wonderful families and friends we have brought this very small part of M. Hugo’s beautiful story to life on our stage.  Thank you for joining us this season as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our name, the Philelectic Society, and the 50th anniversary of young ladies joining us on our stage.  We hope to see you again next season!
