About Twelfth Night
Set in an early 1800s New England country town (or what you will), our production of Twelfth Night aims to highlight the magical history of Irvington through a genderqueer lens. This is a world in which nothing is as it seems and love shows itself in a myriad of ways. Each character yearns to find a sense of belonging and acceptance in this magical land of Illyria. With live music performed by a Rip Van Winkle-inspired Feste and performances by a gender-bending cast, this female-led production hopes to spread a message of love and inclusivity.
This heartwarming comedic tale intends to be a celebration of life shining a light on the people we hold near and dear to each other. It is a fitting piece especially in this moment in time as we are coming out of a year of distance, isolation and grief for many. The themes of family, love, perseverance, self-discovery and survival will resonate with audiences seeking community and connection within a free outdoor theatrical experience.
