Shrek The Musical - March 04 - March 13, 2016

Ionia Community Theatre

 Crew Who's Who

  • Katie Lytle

    Producer

Katie lives at home with her mother, Shereen, and her cat, Lillian. She serves on the Board of Directors for ICT and is the head of the Play Selection Committee. She played the Muse, Euturpe, in ICT’s production of ‘XANADU’. Just recently, she took the stage in ICT’s production of ‘Escanaba in Love’ playing Big Betty Balou. ‘Shrek the Musical’ is Katie’s third production, in which Katie acts as Producer. She would like to thank her wonderful cast, and crew, for making this one of the best experiences. She has learned a lot, and much knowledge will be taken into other productions she will be in. She would also like to thank her theatre friends. She wouldn’t be where she is if it weren’t for you all. “To Emily: Thank you for being one of the greatest directors I have had the pleasure to work with. I appreciate all of your hard work that you have put into this production. You truly were an asset to this show!!"

  • Emily Slater

    Director

Emily lives in Grand Rapids and works for the Murder Mystery Company. She is also a writer on her own blog and on the geek culture website, Court of Nerds. She spends any free time she can find reading, writing, and attending comic book conventions and Renaissance Faires. Emily has been working with Ionia Community Theatre for nine years and has been involved in ten productions, most recently appearing in “Xanadu” as Melpomene and “Fiddler on the Roof” as Tzeitel.

  • Bruce Roetman

    Assistant Director

Bruce says portraying the voice of Grumpy is truly a test of his acting talents because it is such a stretch from his normally cheerful attitude. Bruce started his association with ICT in 1991 when he portrayed the King of Siam in the “King and I”. Since then he has been on, behind and once above the stage. He was last seen as Tevye in “Fiddler on the Roof”. Bruce has performed in, produced or directed at least 33 different productions for ICT. Bruce was flattered when he was approached by first time director Emily Slater to be her assistant director/mentor. It has been a great experience, he says, and we haven’t even fought or nothing. He appreciates her insight and her willingness to allow him to “Bruce” the cast when they need it. For the past 22 years Bruce has enjoyed the company of Colleen Pierce. He also thinks that his three kids are pretty ok but he adores his granddaughters, Eve and Charlotte Grace.
