Director's Note
When I was asked to run this summer camp for INSPIRE I had no idea what to expect. I knew it wasn't a typical huge show, where we spend months crafting, refining, and honing. I knew we would have a very short time to memorize, stage and work on choreography. I knew we would have a BLAST working together and getting to know each other. I didn't know I would be giving so many performers their first opportunity to be in a musical on a stage.
As a theater teacher who has the opportunity to introduce the magic of theater to a new group of students every year I absolutely love seeing kids performing on stage for the first time. It is special to see that excitement, the nerves, the joy of making it through the show. About half of this cast is performing in a show for the first time, and they've been able to do something that is absolutely crazy - learn and perform a show in just a few weeks. Every rehearsal, these performers worked so incredibly hard and had so much fun. They were up for just about anything and stepped up to bring everything together.
Although our time together was brief, it was filled with excitement, joy and a lot of fun.
We could not have done it without the amazing support we have received. I am so thankful for the help I've gotten from Kailin, Alissa, Deann, Kyleen, all of the parents, some of my former students, and the cast. There's no way we could have done it without your devotion, guidance, and help.
Thank you cast and crew for making this a summer filled with with singing, dancing and sunshine!
