I am honored to be part of this production of “Little Women”. This is my first production at Immaculate High School, and it has been a wonderful experience. I have been involved with Middle School Theater for over 20 years as both assistant director and director of plays and musicals. Some of my favorite past productions were Willy Wonka Junior and The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood. This is my first high school production, and working with these students has been a highlight of my directing career. Their talent, dedication, and passion for theater are truly remarkable. They made my job easy! I am immensely grateful for the support and kindness that the cast, crew, and teachers have given me throughout the process. I am especially thankful for Spencer O’Rourke (Student Director) and Michael Volpe (Stage Manager). Their leadership has made this production what it is today. I am proud to have been able to work with them and wish them the best of luck as they continue their journey in theater beyond high school. The rest of the cast and crew have also taught me a lot and made me a better director. I will always remember them as my first high school cast and crew, and they will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you to Alexa Wild, who has been my saving grace throughout the process. From the minute I took on this role, I knew I had big shoes to fill, but I am forever grateful that she walked beside me and guided me along the way. I truly appreciate our partnership and hold it near and dear to my heart.
Thank you to Patti McKernan whose artistic eye and style lent itself to create an amazing set that made Orchard House come to life. I appreciate all her hard work and being there whenever I needed a second opinion no matter the hour or day!
Thank you to Mara Fleming and Megan Janik for their dedication and hard work that have our actors dressed to impress! Their vision and creativity have made us take a step back in time to the days of the Civil War in a country town in Massachusetts. I cannot thank them enough for all the hours they put into making our costumes look amazing.
Thank you to the support of the administration and the entire Fine Arts Team at Immaculate High School. I feel truly blessed to work at a school that values the arts as much as they do.
Lastly, thank you to the families of our cast and crew. I know that there were many hours of rehearsals, struggles through memorizing lines, building the sets, and finding the right props. The support of those closest to us allows the show to go on!
Thank you to everyone who was part of this show! Just as the March girls grew up over the course of the story, I feel that we have all grown in our own way and have become better people because of our time together.
With Much Love,
Michelle Baird, Teacher Director
